Word lists will be sent out on March 15th, 2025. There are three categories. Beginner, intermediate, and advanced. The beginner level will go up to 4th grade spelling words and no one older than 9 may be in the beginner level. The intermediate level will go up to 9th grade spelling words and no one older than 15 may be in the intermediate level. The advanced level will go up to 12th grade spelling words with no one older than 18. You can join any age group based on your skill level as long as you do not exceed the set age level.

75 seconds will be allotted to each contestant in the first round. In the second round only 60 seconds, and in the third round, 45 seconds. If a spell off occurs, only 30 seconds will be given to answer. A wrong answer means that the contestant will not progress to additional rounds.

Anyone is welcome to attend the spelling bee and watch the contestants. Food, games, and music will be provided. The awards ceremony will have prizes up to $150 for the top three winners in each category.

To help us make this possible, we ask that each contestant family provide an adult volunteer to help with judging, food, or activities. There will be activities for children that are not participating or that did not advance to another round.
